The US Embassy’s Humphrey Fellowship Program

The Humphrey Fellowship programme, offered by the US government, is an excellent opportunity for mid-career and young professionals to participate in a one-year fellowship in the US. The programme is a non-degree graduate-level study that provides professional collaborations and leadership development with U.S. counterparts. Academic coursework and an internship in a related organisation in the United States make up the programme.

This is a NON-DEGREE program, meaning that you will only get the training and knowledge of your selected field without any sort of degree.

The selected fellows will need to dedicate rigorous time and effort to be able to complete the fellowship.

Fellows will not choose the university that they will study instead the program will choose the university that is best suited for the fellow.

·        Technology Policy and Management

·        Human Resource Management

Education: 

·        Education Administration

·        Planning and Policy

·        Higher Education Administration

·        Teaching of English as a Foreign Language

Public Health: 

·        Public Health policy and management

·        HIV/AIDS Policy and prevention

·        Substance Abuse Education

·        Treatment an Prevention

 

Benefits of Scholarship:

The followings will be covered/provided:

·        Travel costs (To and from US and to programs)

·        Tuition fees and other fees

·        Costs for sickness and accident

·        Book allowance

·        One-time computer subsidy

·        Allowance for professional development (activities, field trips, visits and conferences)

·        Living allowance (including settling allowance for one time)

 

Eligibility:

·        Have acquired Bachelor’s degree

·        Have at least 5 years of professional experience (full-time employee)

·        None or limited prior experience in USA

·        Have demonstrated leadership qualities

·        Has a record of public service (in the community)

·        Proficiency in the English Language (TOEFL 71, IELTS 6-7)

·        Note: The eligibility from your country might differ; therefore, you must contact the US embassy in your country in this regard.
