Brief Description:
The ITS – Institute for
Technology and Society Global Policy Fellowship Programme is currently
accepting applications. Researchers, professionals, and students are encouraged
to apply for the ITS 8th edition, which has already accepted 30 fellows. The prior
fellows were interested in technology and how it interacts with law and came
from a variety of nations.
The Global Policy Fellowship 2024
chosen candidates will focus their research on one of the following three main
areas of knowledge:
Rights and Technology: The future
of the web, generative AI, content moderation, techno diversity, personal data
protection, and the metaverse are all included in this ITS Global Policy
Fellowship area
GovTech: The fellowship’s GovTech
category will focus on distributed technologies, digital identity, sandbox and
regulatory innovation, and new development models;
Democracy and Technology: This
subject covers a number of topics, such as the future of labour,
disinformation, quadratic voting, and civic participation.
Those interested in taking
advantage of this exceptional chance to broaden their understanding of the
Brazilian technological landscape are encouraged to apply for the Global Policy
Fellowship Programme 2024. The rigors four-week programme, the Institute for
Technology and Society Global Policy Fellowship, includes sessions with ITS
partners in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and BrasÃlia.
During the duration of the
programme, fellows are permitted to remain in Rio de Janeiro. They can achieve
this by talking with ITS about how long or short of a visit to make. In this
scenario, the entry visa and any associated expenses for the prolonged stay are
the fellows’ responsibility.

Benefits of Scholarship:
These scholarships cover the
following expenses:

Full tuition fee
·
Accommodation (hostel fee)

Monthly allowance (INR
7000 for master degree and INR 25000 for PhD)

a Start-allowance of 10000
INR
·
SAU President scholarship
is awarded based on exam results in the entry exam and includes full tuition
fees, hostel fees, and monthly allowance.
Duration of scholarship: in
any kind of scholarship, it is awarded for one year and continued based on the
academic performance of the student, discipline maintenance.
The Global Policy Fellowship will
cover the following expenses:

Lodging during trips
outside Rio;
·
Roundtrip air tickets
between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo;
·
Roundtrip air tickets
between Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia
Applicants are responsible for
the followings:

Air tickets to Brazil and
the home countries;
·
Four-week accommodation
during their stay in Rio de Janeiro;
·
Other personal costs of
stay in Brazil, but those mentioned above;
·
Visa fees (if required).
Eligibility:
Students who meet the following
requirements can apply to South Asian University:
·
Have finished 12 years of
school and Hold a bachelor’s degree. (totally 15 years of education at least)
·
Applicants who are in
their last year of undergraduate-level can also apply.

Requirements of the Global Policy
Fellowship
·
All interested applicants
must meet the following requirements to apply for the Global Policy Fellowship:
·
Be a citizen of countries
but Brazil;
·
Applicants should be
proficient in English, and fluency in Portuguese is not mandatory;
·
Be a student, researcher,
and professional with a Master’s, Ph.D., or MBA degree;
·
Be engaged in public
policy and the Internet debates, but people from all areas of knowledge are
welcome to apply
The Fellows must:
·
Present their professional
experience and research topics to the ITS team;
·
Issue a brief article
online about their fellowship experience in Brazil;
·
Cooperate with the ITS
team in publications;
·
Attend meetings and
lectures with public agents, lawyers, press, and industry representatives;
·
Recognize research
projects with the ITS team;
·
Deliver a lecture during
the International School of Law and Technology in Rio in July 2024.
