Chinese Government Scholarship – University program

The Chinese government offers various types of scholarships for students from outside China. One of the best programs is the Chinese University Program that provides full scholarships for graduate students.

Level of study:

·         Master’s degree

·         PhD

Duration:

·         Master degree not more than three years

·         Ph.D. not more than 4 years (1-year language course + 3 years of official doctoral program)

Medium of instruction:

·         Chinese (Chinese taught program)

·         English (English taught program- if available)

Who can apply to this program?

Be a citizen of a country other than China

·         Be healthy

·         Be under the age of 25 for undergraduate studies, Under 35 for Master degree and under 40 for PhD

·         Have obtained a high school certificate for a bachelor degree, a bachelor degree for master studies and a master degree for Ph.D.

Where to apply

Apply to the university undertaking this program and then apply online through the CGS information management system for Chinese Government Scholarship and print a hard copy. You may consult the university you apply for instruction and agency number. Finally, submit all your documents to the university before the deadline.

What documents are required for the Chinese University program?

·         Application form ( in Chinese / English )

·         Highest academic diploma ( applicants who are expected to graduate need to submit an official document issued by the university describing the status of the student and the expected date of graduation.)

·         Educational transcripts (documents not in Chinese or English should be translated in English or Chinese and attached both. )

·         Study plan/research proposal (min 200 for UG students and min 800 words for PG studies)

·         Two letters of recommendation (signed by professor)

·         CD of work (art student only )

·         Physical examination form

·         Copy of valid HSK Certificate (if available )

Selection process

Applications are reviewed by the university and nominate the candidates. CSC will review and approve the list of scholarship recipients and send admission documents to University before June 30.
