About Futures Group Global Outreach:

Futures Group Global Outreach is implementing the Health Sector Resiliency Project (HSR), a five year contract funded by USAID. The overall goal of HSR is to support the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) to foster a strengthened, reformed, and increasingly self-reliant Afghan health system prepared for the decreased donor support anticipated over the coming decade. The HSR Project acts as a resource and a catalyst to the MoPH and other GIRoA entities as it considers and implements critical sector-wide reforms that are required to make the system more resilient and sustainable. The project primarily focuses on governance, health finance and human resources for health and engages both the public and private components of the health sector.

Job Summary:

The main objective of the user fees follow-on assessment is to assess if implementation of the user fees in public hospitals have created any barriers to services utilization by the beneficiaries (to obtain the patients’ perspectives) and to provide policy recommendations to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) to improve implementation of user fee in public hospitals in Kabul and other provinces in the future.

Skills Description:

– Be familiar with MS Office processing programs

– Familiarity with data entry tool such as CS pro, EpiInfo is preferred.

– Dari/ Pashtu and English typing skills

– Good communication and verbal skill in contacting with other people.

– Good interpersonal skill.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Participate in the trainings of user fee survey data collection conducted by the MoPH, General Directorate of Curative Medicine and HSR project;

·         Conduct exit interviews with patients in selected sample hospitals;

·         ‌‌‌Create a good communication relationship with patient/patient attendant to ensure that a good interview is conducted and patient privacy is maintained during the interview;

 

·         Ensure quality data collection at the hospital according to the designated questionnaire;

 

·         Ensure close coordination with the field supervisor and follow the instructions applied by the supervisor;

 

·         Be able to do data entry of the collected information in the designated tool;

·         Ensure timely management of data collection, questionnaires check and timely transmission of collected data to supervisor;

·         Be able to speak in both national languages and

 

·         Be able to perform any additional task related to the study, given by the supervisor.

 

Deliverables:

 

·         Filled questionnaires.  

 

·         Final list of the hospitals interviews conducted and the total number of interviews.

 

·         Data are entered into the designated tool.

 

 

Qualifications:

·         Be an Afghan nationality holder

·         Holding bachelor degree in the field of Public health, nursing, midwifery, allied health or sociology.

·         At least 1 year of experience with the Ministry of public health and or national and international organizations.

·         Participated at least in one similar survey as data collector
