Aga Khan Health Service, Afghanistan (AKHS,A), an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), is a long-term partner of the ‘Ministry of Public Health, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’ for the implementation of “Basic Package of Health Services” in three provinces (Baghlan, Bamyan and Badakhshan), and implementation of Essential Package of  Hospital Service (EPHS) in Badakhshan and Bamyan province. AKHS-A is implementing three Community Midwifery Education Program Schools each in Bamyan, Badakhshan and Baghlan.

Job description:

·         Serve as in-charge of Obstetrics/Gynecological department.

·         To be responsible for all administrative activities of Doctors in the department

·         To be responsible for   supervision of all doctors ion the department and ensure adequate coverage of all shift-OPD and IPD.

·         To perform daily ward rounds and subsequent afternoon rounds with members of the team

·         support in teaching and communicate effectively with the nursing team

·         6-To effectively manage women referred from other health centers and facilities and support the Basic Health Center

·         To support the BDK Community Midwifery Educational Program (BACMEP) in both clinical supervision and teaching activities for student

·         To give clear explanation to the patient and his family about his disease and the treatment.

·         To support health education in both OPD and IPD

Job Requirements:

Education:

Should have at least degree Gynecology/MD

Work Experience:

At least 3 years Experience in the clinics/Hospitals

Skills:

 Preparing HMIS Reports system

Languages: 

Fluency in English and Local Language(s)
