The Gates Cambridge Scholarship in UK (PhD, MSc/MLitt, postgraduate course)

The University of Cambridge with the $ 210 Million funding from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation offer 80 full scholarships for outstanding individuals from any country outside United Kingdom to purse a postgraduate degree (full-time) in the subject of their choice at University of Cambridge. 2/3 of it is for PhD students, nearly 25 awards for US and 55 others for the international round.

·         A commitment to improving the lives of others

Benefits:

·         Tuition Fee

·         £500 – £2,000 – academic development funding (depending on the length of the course)

·         One single economy airfare (one at the beginning and one at the end)

·         Inbound Visa costs

·         Family allowance

·         Field work

·         Paternity/maternity funding

·         Money for unforeseen difficulties

The following costs are not covered:

·         Bench fees

·         Scientific equipment costs or other similar costs

·         Additional fees

·         Study trips

·         Courses outside the university

Eligibility:

Outside UK

Applying for residency to pursue:

Ø  PhD

Ø  MSc/MLitt

Ø  One year postgraduate with some exceptions

Scholarships not available for the following courses :

Ø  Any undergraduate degree such as BA affiliated (a second BA) or BA (undergraduate)

Ø  MBBChir Clinical Studies

Ø  Master of Business (MBA)

Ø  MD Doctor of Medicine degree (6 years, part-time)

Ø  Graduate Course in Medicine (A101)

Ø  Master of Finance (MFin)

Ø  Part-time degrees Non-degree courses
