Master Helmut-Schmidt Scholarship Program for Public Policy and Good Governance (DAAD PPGG)

Graduate students who wish to actively contribute to the economic and social improvement of their home countries will be given the opportunity to pursue their master’s degree with a full scholarship in public policy and governance by German Academic Exchange Service in prestigious institutions of higher education in Germany. The program enables the participants with the knowledge and experience, they would need as future leaders in politics, law, economics and administration as well as their professional life.

Scholarship value: 

·         Tuition fees

·         German language course (6 months, mandatory for all)

·         Participate in networking events

·         A monthly stipend of 850 € Health insurance

·         Travel cost

·         Study and research grant

·         Rent contributions

·         Family allowances

 

Eligibility:

·         Must have a bachelor or equivalent in the fields of social sciences, political sciences, law, economics or in public administration

·         Be from an eligible country (see the list of countries)

·         University degree have been obtained six years prior to the application

·         Applicants have not stayed in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of the application deadline

·         Knowledge of English

·         Political and social engagement

·         Strong motivation for the subject-related study in Germany and the expected outcome upon returning home

1. Hertie School of Governance, Berlin: Master of Public Policy (MPP)

2. Universität Duisburg-Essen: Master of Development and Governance

3. Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt: Master of Public Policy (MPP)

4. Leuphana Universität Lüneburg: Public Economics, Law and Politics (PELP)

5. Hochschule Osnabrück: Management in Non-Profit-Organisations

6. Universität Osnabrück: Master of Democratic Governance and Civil Society

7. Universität Passau: Master of Governance and Public Policy

8. Universität Potsdam: Master of Public Management (MPM)

 

Application instructions:

Candidates have to submit their complete applications and the necessary documents for the up to TWO master`s courses and for the DAAD scholarship only to the selected universities. The language of application must be German or English. They are also required to specify the priority of their choice (first, second) in the application.

Note: If you send your application to DAAD or to more than two universities, your application will not be considered.

Two-pages Motivation letter (with hand signature and current date)

CV with current date (with hand signature and current date)

University degrees copy (with a description of the grading system)

Transcript copies

School leaving certificate copy

Language certificates (German and English)

Two letters of recommendation (academic or professional) 

Deadline: 1 June to 31 July, 2019
