Apply to UNESCO Prize for Girls and Women Education (Nominate Champions)

UNESCO has organized the call for nominations for the 2019 Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education champions on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2019. It is established in 2015 and Funded by the government of the People’s Republic of China, the Prize is conferred annually to two laureates and consists of an award of USD 50,000 each to help further their work in the area of girls’ and women’s education. .

Eligibility:

The nominations will be assessed on the basis of the project/program’s potential for;
A)Influence The project/program may bring tangible results relative to the invested resources. This can include distinct changes in beliefs and practices toward gender equality, girls’ educational outcomes or other relevant issues to advance girls’ and women’s education.
B)Creativity This includes new ways of working and changeful thoughts and actions. The project/program can display innovation in terms of the topics covered, the methodology, the channels used and other aspects.
C)Sustainability To ensure it will have a lasting impact. This may include efforts to ensure the continuation, institutionalization of project actions and generation of more inspirations.
D)Other criteria The project/program should already be running for at least 2 years and proof that it may be planned to further resolve a difficulty or improve other situations. It should also supply to one or more of the 5 Priority Action Areas of the Prize.

Application instructions:

There are 3 application rounds for individual scholarships in 2019. The next application round will open on 7 February. Provisional opening for other application rounds will be 6 June 2019 and 5 September 2019.
Before you apply, make sure you review the eligibility criteria carefully and check whether your employer is willing to nominate you for the scholarship. You need to apply directly with a Dutch higher education institution of your choice. Contact the Dutch higher education institution which offers the OKP qualified course of your choice for application procedures. Deadline varies depending on the course and the University.
