The applications have opened for the Ockenden International Prizes 2021. Ockenden International is welcoming projects, activities, and/or programs designed to promote self-reliance among refugees and displaced people. Therefore, organizations can nominate their relevant project, or they can appoint a project managed by a non-profit partner or affiliated organization for the prize.

Benefits:
Each of the four successful organizations will receive GBP25,000.
Eligibility:
· At the international level, organizations running projects that have proved to be largely effective in improving the lives of refugees and/or displaced people can apply.
· Organizations may submit one entry only in each prize year.
· Previous winners are ineligible for three years.
· A project which has been effective with measurable proof of positive impact can be submitted.
· The project submitted must be up and running before 1 April 2020.
· Organizations must enjoy high standards of financial and administrative governance. All short-listed entrant referees will have to provide references and any other evidence relevant to the organization’s entered or nominated project.
· The organization will require Prize winners to provide information to Ockenden International about the projects and the utilization of prize money, which Ockenden International will share on its website and in other communications.
· All entries – and supporting documents, including financials and accounts – must be in English.
Evaluation
The judging will take place based on the below criteria.
· Projects that advance self-reliance among migrants and/or displaced people.
· These may be projects run by or have a high level of involvement from displaced people themselves, projects delivering education, legal assistance, and/or livelihood assistance; or any other programs that help refugees and/or displaced people build sustainable, independent lives.
· Projects with high effectiveness in improving the lives of refugees.
· Projects that have created real change in the lives of refugees and/or displaced people.
· Effective initiatives, with measurable evidence of outcomes.
· The panel’s decision is final, and there will be no correspondence in this regard.
Further conditions
· By submitting an entry, the organization entering for the Prizes agrees with the Rules of the prize.
· The organizations should use the prize money for charitable purposes to help refugees in need and continue or expand the previous work.
· The two nominated referees required by all organizations entering the prize must be third-party, relevant external observers.
· Entrants must include a copy of the organization’s latest audited accounts with their application. If unavailable, entrants will have to provide other evidence of sound financial governance.
· During the short-listing process, Ockenden International may ask entrants to provide references or other proof of the project and their financial and administrative governance.
· And, prize money will only be paid to a bank account held in the entrant’s name.

Organizations can make entries via the Online Entry Form. The project should be the full focus of the entry.
