Brief Description:
The Y20 Award is a unique
identifier for both young person and group leaders in G20 countries and beyond,
and is hosted by the Indonesian Y20 2022 Presidency. This award recognises
youth leaders who have consistently worked on initiatives and/or programmes, or
headed foundations and/or organisations, that are relevant to one of four
themes: youth employment, a sustainable and habitable world, digital
transformation, or diversity and inclusion. The application period for these
awards is now open, as shown in the timetable below. You may proceed with the
application registration if you are an engaged youth in one of the
above-mentioned groups.
The prize is split into two
categories, each with its own set of qualifications.

Y20 –
International/National Youth Group award
Both are open for global youth
with different requirements listed in the Requirement section below.

Eligibility:

The conditions and
eligibility differ according to the below categories.
For Y20 – Individual Youth Leader
Award:
·
The applicant’s age must
be between years 16 to 30.
·
Applicants of all
nationalities can participate.
·
An applicant has done/been
doing one or many projects relevant to one of the four topics: youth
employment, sustainable and livable planet, digital transformation, and
diversity and inclusion.
·
The project must be
active/ can engage/ relate to the agencies of United Nations/ IMF/WTO/ World
Bank or other international organizations or 2 G20 countries.
Video submission as below:
·
Area 1 Priority: Youth
Employment: Showcase on Social Entrepreneurship.
·
Area 2 priority: Digital
Transformation: Campaign on Digital Financial Awareness. Submit a video
presentation, 1 to 3 minutes long, on how to promote digital financial awareness
for youth. For example, Payment, Blockchain, Digital Banking and etc)
·
Area 3 Priority: Livable
and sustainable planet. Submit 1 to 3 minutes long video or presentation on
value chain mapping of a product and how to promote it to become more
sustainable or circular.
·
Area 4 Priority: Diversity
and Inclusion. What are your points on diversity and inclusion?
·
You must submit creative
social media content like poems, videos, Animation, songs, cartoons, etc., on
how youths could promote Diversity and Inclusion in Society.
·
Two recommendation letters
from an organization or personal network. The recommendation letter by the Y20
organizer/G20 Sherpa will be precious.
·
For Y20 – Youth Group
Award
·
The organization must be
registered nationally/internationally.
·
Must have done/been doing
one or many projects relevant to the four main topics mentioned above.
·
The group is appreciated
as active/engaged/related to United Nations’ agencies/World Bank/IMF/WTO or
other international organizations or 2 G20 countries.
·
Provide and present a
video as evidence of the impacts of the program/project for one year. The video
must state the group profile and activities.
·
Have two letters of
recommendation from two separate national/international foundations/groups and
credible donors or beneficiaries.
Video Guideline:
·
The participants can take
the video using a smartphone or professional camera.
·
When speaking on the
video, the participant must use English.
·
The video must match the
details of the video described on the application form.
·
The minimum resolution of
the video must be 480p.
·
Both categories are
appreciated to show or mention 2 G20 countries that you are active or involved
with.
·
The participant must
upload the video on social media (Instagram, TikTok/YouTube), mentioning and tagging
Y20 Indonesia 2022 social media accounts.
·
The video link uploaded on
social media must be put on the application form.
·
The video submission
deadline is the same date as the Y20 award application process.
Registration:
·
The applicant can only
select one category with many priority areas and specific requirements in the
application form.
·
The applicants must
complete all required documents in the form: application form, CV, proof of
projects/program through video, and two recommendation letters.
Selection Process:
·
The selection process is
done in two steps: The first is submitting a CV, letters of recommendation, and
submission of the video proving the projects/program. The best 20 finalists
will be chosen for the second stage. Finally, out of finalists, the judges will
select five winners (4 Y20 leaders and one best Y20 youth group).
