Brief Description:
Rotary is a worldwide
organisation of people who use their many vocations to contribute to social
development and world peace. This Foundation was established to honour the
achievements of Sir Umekichi Yoneyama, a businessman who was instrumental in
the formation of Japan’s first Rotary Club; now, Rotary Clubs may be found in
over 200 nations and areas across the world. As of April 16, 2021, there were
over 36,600 clubs with over 1,193,804 members.
This Foundation assists
international students in achieving high academic achievement and teaches the
Rotary spirit through exchanges with counsellors and sewa clubs in order to
deepen mutual international understanding and strengthen bonds in order to
become a bridge between the students’ home country and Japan.
The scholarship requirements
demand zeal and excellence in the following areas:

Your Obligation:
·
Yoneyama Scholars could
give talks at SEWA Rotary Club meetings and make attempts to increase mutual
understanding during such interactions.
·
At least twice a year,
submit a report written in the Japanese language.
