Brief Description:
The Emilia Romagna Region and ER.GO – Azienda Regionale
per il Diritto agli Studi Superiori dell’Emilia Romagna (Regional Authority for
the Right to Higher Education of Emilia Romagna), in cooperation with the
Universities of Bologna, Ferrara, Modena and Reggio Emilia, Parma, the
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and the Politecnico in Milan – with
University Campus in Piacenza – are providing 38 scholarships in cash and
services to young people fleeing from Afghanistan due to the 2021 humanitarian
crisis and
welcomed in Emilia Romagna.
These monetary and non-monetary scholarships are targeted at students who want
to enroll in university for the academic year 2021/2022 or young people who
already have a suitable academic degree that allows them to pursue a
postgraduate study at one of the Region’s universities, as stated above. The
ultimate goal is to welcome and accompany those students or young people who
already have a suitable academic degree, allowing them to enroll in a
postgraduate course, until they successfully complete their university career
at the Emilia Romagna universities as defined above, activating all subjects
that may contribute to the project in various ways.

Benefits of Scholarship:

Cash grant, which includes
the regional tax for the opportunity to study at a university, as well as stamp
duty and insurance fees.
·
Free housing at ER.GO
university dormitories for a period of 12 months (including August), as well as
a welcome kit (set of crockery, linen, and bicycle);
·
Prepaid sum for catering
service at ER.GO canteens and premises valued at 600,00 euros or similar
service for the Piacenza Campus
·
For the academic year
2021/2022, total tuition fee exemption is eligible for master’s degrees, higher
education, and lifelong learning courses, but only if these courses can be
activated by the University of reference mentioned in this Announcement.

The scholarship and
advantages described in this announcement cannot be combined with those offered
by other public and private institutions, or with those offered as part of the
right to university study or for any other purpose.
Eligibility:
·
Students enrolled in a
degree program, a single-cycle degree, or a master’s degree program in the
academic year 2021/2022, including single courses or the Foundation Year
preparation course, will be activated.

Young people who already
have a bachelor’s degree and are pursuing a postgraduate degree (including the
development of research program lasting a minimum of 9 months at one of the
universities in Emilia Romagna, willing to host the researcher, under the
supervision of a tutor)

Selection & Evaluation:
·
A combined
ER.GO-Universities Commission oversees the selection process.
·
In the case of enrolment
in international courses, the selection method includes the Commission’s review
of the required documents, as well as a subsequent interview during which the
candidate’s knowledge of Italian and English will be examined.
·
The Commission establishes
the selection criteria, guaranteeing a balanced gender distribution and giving
preference to individuals who are younger in age.
·
The past studies’
consistency and comparability with the specific educational options available
at the universities will be considered during the selection process.
·
If less than 38
applications are submitted or found to be eligible by November 8, 2021, the
call will be reopened on December 13, 2021, and will close on January 14, 2022.
