International students looking to
study abroad as part of their undergraduate or graduate programme can apply for
a variety of scholarships and grants from the University of Melbourne. Some
scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, while others are
designed to assist students from low-income families who wish to study abroad.

Benefits of Scholarship:
To be eligible for any of the
Melbourne Mobility Awards, prospective students must travel for at least three
weeks for their overseas programme.
The Melbourne Global Scholars
Award and USA Foundation Scholarship is a one-time payment that includes:
·
Students who study abroad
for at least 3 weeks and up to 12 weeks are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship.
·
$2500 for students
enrolled in 12-week or longer international study programmes
·
The Melbourne Global
Financial Assistance Grant, the John and Betty McCrery Traveling/Studying
Scholarship, and the Lin Martin Melbourne Global Scholarship all grant a
one-time payment of up to $5000.
·
The University House
Travel Scholarship and the Aitchison Travelling Scholarship each offer a $5,000
one-time grant.
Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the
following criteria to be considered for this scholarship:

Enroll
in a bachelor’s or master’s degree programme at the University of Melbourne.
·
Intend
to study abroad for at least 3 weeks as part of a semester or year-long
programme, a short-term programme, or a University of Melbourne Overseas
Subject at the University of Melbourne.
·
Apply
for a Melbourne Mobility Award before the commencement of the overseas study
program
·
Have
not received a Melbourne Mobility Award for the overseas study that was part of
your existing course
·
Not
have received a New Colombo Plan Grant or Endeavour Student Exchange Program
funding that was part of your current course (applies to Lin Martin Global
Scholarship only)
Selection criteria
·
These awards are presented
for the specific purpose of scholarships.
·
The selection of merit
scholarships is based on academic excellence and accomplishments using the
University’s Weighted Average Mark (WAM). For this reason, you must hold
the results of your current course while applying and have received a WAM of 75
or higher.
·
The selection of access
scholarships takes place on the basis of provable social, educational, and
financial disadvantages.
·
Chancellor’s Scholars,
Kwong Lee Dow Scholars, Commerce Achievement Scholarship awardees and students
who entered the University between 2010- 2016 with an ATAR of at least 98 are
guaranteed one Melbourne Global Scholars Award in their undergraduate degree.

application form before you begin your overseas study program. For more

Further conditions of the scholarship

You must get permission
and register in your overseas program.
·
In case your overseas
study program is canceled or postponed by any party after receiving the award
payment, you must contact Stop 1
·
You have to agree to
participate in any ambassadorship activities if asked by the university which
includes global mobility blogs, social media channels, events, and student
exhibitions.
·
You are required to grant
permission for the university to provide your name and course details to the
program donor
·
By agreeing to submit an
offer for MMA, you will not have a chance for future similar awards.

MMA by completing and submitting the online application form.

If you wish to apply for a
scholarship based on financial difficulties, personal problems, disability or
medical condition, you will be required to supply supporting documents such as
medical forms.
·
You do not need to apply
to the Melbourne University Award separately.
·
Incomplete applications
will not be taken into account.
·
In case your application
is unsuccessful, you will be able to re-apply on condition that you have not
already begun your study program abroad.
