Japan Study Supports Scholarships 2022 for Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Brief Description:

Non-Japanese students interested in studying in Japan can apply for JPSS scholarships. After their enrollment has been accepted, applicants can apply to any Japanese university and receive one of the following scholarships.

Opportunity Type: Fully Funded, Partially Funded

Application period: 

·        Spring Period (for candidates enrolling in April – May 2021): Between 10 am March 31, 2021, and 5 pm on May 31, 2021 (JST)

·        Fall Period (for candidates enrolling in September – November 2021): Between 10 am August 23, 2021, and 5 pm, October 31, 2021 (JST)

Level of study:

·        Bachelor Degree

·        Master’s Degree

Benefits of Scholarship:

·        1 million yen to TWO successful applicants after their enrollment has been accepted.

·        500,000-yen financial support to ONE successful applicant

Eligibility:

Applicants who fulfill the following requirements can apply to the JPSS scholarship:

·        Be a citizen of a country other than Japan.

·        Have received a message from the chosen university via the “JPSS Scout function” prior to acceptance.

·        Be able to pass an interview in either Japanese or English.

·        Own a Japanese bank account in their name.

·        Have been accepted to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate degree starting in April/May 2021 and their enrolment has been endorsed.

·        Applicants who are under 20, their guardian should understand Japanese or English

·        Short essay in English or Japanese about the Motivation for studying in Japan and future goals (English max. 350 words, Japanese maximum 800 characters)

·        A short video of self-introduction ( Up to 30 seconds)

·        The application can be submitted online only. After submitting the application, the application and documents are screened, shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview. Notification will be sent to successful applicants.
