The Obama Foundation awards
scholarships to students from all over the world to attend Columbia University.
The scholars’ activities will be focused on Columbia World Projects.

Benefits of Scholarship:
·
Stipend to help with
living expenses in New York City on a monthly basis
·
If the program is able to
meet in person, a furnished studio apartment within walking distance of
Columbia University.
·
Tuition and expenses for
up to four Columbia University courses
·
If the program is able to
meet in person, basic medical, dental, and life insurance will be provided for
the duration of the program in New York City.
·
If the program is able to
convene in person, air travel to and from the home country, as well as any
program-related activities.
Note: Applicants
with spouses/partners and/or children are invited to apply, but the Obama
Foundation Scholars program will only fund costs for the Scholar and not for
family members or partners. Housing allowances and stipends are set at a single
rate for Scholars, and the program will aid Scholars in acquiring visas. Family
members will also be prohibited from accompanying Scholars on program-related
trips throughout the year. Only Scholars will be assisted in getting visas
through this program.

Be a rising young leader
who makes a positive impact in their communities.
·
Outside the United States,
demonstrated commitment to service and leadership in a community, region, or
country.
·
After completing the
program, they will return to their community.
·
Be emerging leaders who
have made a significant contribution to their profession and are at the
“tipping point” of their careers.
·
Be fluent in English and
choose one of the following options.
·
You must be an English
native speaker.
·
Have achieved a TOEFL IBT
100, PBT 600, IELTS 7, or PTE 68 score, or have finished an undergraduate degree
in an English-speaking nation.
·
Ability and desire to make
a good difference in their community
·
Be a strong believer in
humility, integrity, exclusivity, stewardship, fearlessness, imagination, and
collaboration.
