According to the Canadian
government’s official announcement, Canada
is working quickly to assist those who risk their lives to help Canada. That is
why Canada’s Ministry of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, as well as the
Ministers of Foreign Affairs and National Defence, announced a special
programme to resettle Afghans who were critical to the country’s efforts in
Afghanistan.
Immigration, Refugees and
Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is providing a special path to protection for those
who are at risk as a result of their work with Canada.
The work to identify and assist
individuals eligible for resettlement to Canada is well underway at the Global
Affairs Canada (GAC) and the Department of National Defence (DND).
Individuals referred by GAC and
DND will be processed by IRCC beginning immediately.
Eligibility:
·cooks
·drivers
·cleaners
·construction workers
·security gaurds
·locally engaged staff
employed at the embassy of canada
·Those who worked with
canadian armed forces.
Individuals must meet all
security, criminal, and health screening requirements, as well as processing
timelines.
The applicants, their families,
and the time it took to process their resettlement will not be revealed for
security reasons.
