Brief Description:
The International Society for
Infectious Diseases (ISID) and the European Society for Clinical Microbiology
and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) announced a joint fellowship programme in 2010
to encourage international collaboration and the sharing of scientific
knowledge and best practises. The initiative allows early-career investigators
from low- and lower-middle-income countries outside the area to go to Europe
for multidisciplinary clinical and laboratory training.
Successful applicants will gain
research experience, learn from experienced infectious disease specialists, and
return home with information and techniques that will help them enhance
clinical practise in places where it is most needed. Proposals that will
improve technology transfer to geographical areas where it is most needed are preferred
with this purpose in mind.
