Brief Description:
All students can participate in
the UNFPA Internship Program, which allows them to obtain hands-on experience
with UNFPA activities. Its goal is to provide hands-on experience in diverse
UNFPA programmes to augment development-oriented studies.
Applicants should have expressed
an interest in development as well as the ability to adapt to new conditions
and interact with people from different cultural backgrounds. Interns work in
small groups where they are encouraged and held accountable. They will also be
supervised by a UNFPA employee who has been assigned to them. The backgrounds
of the interns are matched to the needs of the business.

The costs of an intern’s
participation in the program must be funded by either the students or the
nominating organization, which may give the necessary financial assistance to
its students.

Students will be
responsible for their own living expenditures and must make their own lodging,
travel, and other arrangements.

In addition, applicants
must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship. Prior to the
start of the internship, proof of insurance must be provided.
·
The United Nations
Population Fund does not pay interns for their work. Even if they do not
receive financial support from any organization or program, such as an academic
institution, government, foundation, or scholarship program, they may receive a
stipend to help cover basic daily costs associated to the internship.
Eligibility:

Candidates for the
internship are chosen through a competitive process. The interns’ profiles will
correspond to the organization’s requirements. As a result, the requirements
listed below will be considered:

Be enrolled in or have
just graduated from an advanced degree program.
·
Students must be fluent in
written and spoken English; fluency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is a plus.
·
Should have indicated an
interest in the field of development, as well as the ability to adapt to new
situations and collaborate with people from various cultural backgrounds.
