Brief Description:
PeaceX’s Project BookPecker is a
ground-breaking grassroots effort aimed at bridging socioeconomic inequalities
in literacy and reimagining education. Project BookPecker Fellows are
intelligent, astute individuals with a passion for curriculum development,
teaching, and educational management. Our employees come from a variety of
professional backgrounds and walks of life, and they combine their skills to
create fresh approaches to themes, improve current teaching methods, create
bite-sized audiovisual modules, lead student sessions, and contribute to the
digitisation of education.
Project BookPecker’s initial
cohort had 56 fellows from over 40 countries who worked to achieve the fourth
Sustainable Development Goal of quality, inclusive education a reality. Fellows
from prestigious universities such as Harvard, Cambridge, King’s College
London, University of Alberta, Georgia Tech University, and University of
Delhi, as well as pioneering companies in the consulting, public sector,
education, FMGC, software development, real estate, and oil and gas industries,
as well as social sector organizations like Teach for Bangladesh, were among
the BookPecker fellows.

Project BookPecker’s initial

BookPecker program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
·
Create audiovisual and
written teaching materials as well as academic modules.
·
Conduct sessions on a
variety of topics.
·
Consider new academic
tasks, exercises, and assessment systems.
·
To create curriculum
content, collaborate with Curriculum Development coordinators and other fellows.
Ensure
·
that the content you
create is consistent in terms of content structure, linguistic elements, and
design language.
·
Create and research
appropriate teaching methods and technologies.
·
Participate in seminars
led by guest teachers and trainers.
·
Arrange for BookPecker
beneficiaries and the general public to participate in advocacy actions and
events.
·
Promote educational equity
and actions aimed at achieving it.

Eligibility:
·
Be pursuing/completing a
bachelor’s or master’s degree in any field
·
Be at least 18 years old
at the time of application
·
Be available for a
part-time, online opportunity.
·
Be willing to volunteer
for at least 12-16 hours per week.
Must have skills:
·
Content drafting, editing,
and proofreading
·
A good understanding of
word processing and spreadsheet software (MS Word, Google Docs, etc) (MS Excel,
Google Sheets, etc.)
·
Understand, teach, and
brainstorm about a variety of topics.
·
An understanding of the
fundamentals of illustration and design techniques and tools is required.
·
English fluency is
required.

Teachers and academicians
with years of expertise in the education sector will lead the training session.
During the fellowship, workshops on child psychology, teaching methods,
subject-specific talks, and other topics will be held, and credentials will be
