International Women’s Media Foundation Fellowship for Female Journalists in the USA

Brief Description:

The International Women’s Media Foundation aims to empower the female journalists for the transformation of the global news media and provides short term programs and training for women journalists to become an expert in reporting in underserved regions. The Foundation organizes a four-day program in Medellin, Colombia, and offers fully-funded fellowships covering all the expenses of the fellows to participate in the comprehensive security and first aid training and provides the opportunity for the participants to present their reports in international media, meet the other journalists, work in teams. Application is now open for Howard G. Buffett Fund for Women Journalist that is intended to expand its support of journalists.

Interested women journalists who have work experience in media news and published their reports or have a story or plan to publish are highly encouraged to apply.

Requirement:

·        Women-identifying journalists from across the world are eligible to apply.

·        Professional journalism should be applicants’ underlying profession.

·        Teams of journalists can also apply provided that the team comprises 50% women and the team leader is a female.

·        Applicants must have at least three years of work experience in news media

·        Must have good English skills (written, and verbal)

·        Provide proof of interest from an editor or have a proven track record of publication in media.
