Call for applications for the
Varkey Foundation Global Teachers Prize
The application and nomination
period for the 2021 Global Teacher Prize is currently open. You can apply for
the Global Teachers Prize if you are a teacher who has made a positive impact
on students by putting in a lot of effort to teach them. Alternatively,
nominate a deserving teacher for this prestigious award.
A million dollars is set aside
each year for this prize, which is given to teachers who have made outstanding
contributions to their profession.

Eligibility:
Teachers and head-teachers with
teaching responsibility meeting the following criteria can apply:

Any Kind of school
·
Be teaching in any country
of the world
·
Be at least 18 years old
during application
·
Have no and not connected
to the person with a criminal record.
·
Teachers who teach in a
compulsory education school or teach the student between 8-18. Teachers
teaching online, teaching students 4+ at a governmental school, teachers
teaching part-time can also apply.
·
The teachers must teach
and spend minimum of 10 hours/week with children face to face.
·
Make a commitment to
teaching for the next five years
Kinds of teachers:

Teacher with the following
criteria can apply:

Be currently working as a
teacher
·
His/her students should be
children in compulsory school or are between the ages of 5 and 18.
·
Teachers teaching children
who are above their 4th years of age
·
Part time teachers
·
Online teachers

Employing effective,
replicable and scalable instructional practices to influence the quality of
education worldwide.
·
Addressing the particular
challenges of the school through innovative instructional practice.
·
Demonstrated student
learning outcome
·
Impact on the community
beyond the classroom.
·
Contribute to help the
children become global citizens.
·
recognition from the
government, national teaching organizations, pupils.
How to Apply?
Applicants interested in the
Global Teacher prize can apply or/and nominate only online. Other types of
applications are not accepted.
Successful applicants will be announced later. and the awardee
will get the award in 10 installments in the next 10 years.
